I work at the intersection of art and science, examining the relationships between and among experts and publics. My work draws on design research, cultural studies, science and technology studies, and communication studies. These varied interests stem from a desire to understand the value and role of creative, interdisciplinary collaboration; to explore the ways non-experts, or publics (or audiences, or users), take up or make meaning from knowledge in fields often dominated by experts; and to create interventions that encourage both.
